Robor Open Sections – Cold Formed Steel Sections

The division supplies a complete range of cold formed steel profiles for the framing of steel framed buildings, as well as framing and chassis members for portable housing, park homes, etc. This includes standard, as well as eave purlins and side girts. Other products include palisade cross members and fencing pales with special tops – arrow head and spear point.

This division is the only producer of 100mm flange lipped channels to obviate the use of sag rods and angles during construction. It also has the largest stock of standard profiles for steel framed carports, mini factories, etc.

Robor Tube – Hot Rolled Steel Tube and Pipe

Robor’s Tube division supplies mechanical and structural tubing for the framing of steel
framed buildings, including hand rails and stanchions. These products can also be
used in plumbing, fire protection and air conditioning.

Robor Precision Tube – Cold Rolled Tube and Pipe

Robor Precision Tube manufactures a range of products in austenitic and ferritic metals, and in sizes from 101mm to 12.7mm for architectural and building applications.

Robor Steel Services – Drawn Steel Sections

Robor Steel Services manufactures and supplies heavy structural squares and rectangles
to the industry. These are used as beams and columns, with lighter squares
and rectangles used for balustrades and stairways. A range of profiles is also
available for low cost housing.

Robor Galvanizers – Hot Dip Galvanizing

Robor Galvanizers is well equipped to handle any large project where speed of throughput is a critical requirement. There is an abundance of space for offloading, post-galvanizing inspection, and warehousing with eight loading bays and over 12 000m² of warehouse area. The facility is served by 39 overhead cranes and 7 forklifts.

For building and construction, the division offers the flexibility of two galvanizing lines:

Line 1 features the longest kettle in South Africa. The line is a general open dip facility, specialising in the galvanizing of long products, such as large bore piping, lighting poles, structural steel and fabricated sections.

Line 2 is the widest and deepest galvanising kettle in South Africa, offering corrosion consultants, engineers, designers and fabricators much needed flexibility on the corrosion protection of steel. The line is ideally suited to pipe-work, fencing panels, box frames, chutes, staircases, ducting, large vessels and receivers, as well as long products which are less than 3.7m long. These can be vertically dipped.
